List what is actually included with your bag and keep original, replacement and unknown accessories distinct. A dust bag, strap, pouch or key set belongs in the record even when you cannot assign it a separate market value.
Define the physical set you own
A product page can show accessories that were included at retail but are no longer with your bag. Check the actual set before copying the original product description. Keep the parent bag and its included components connected so the inventory does not accidentally count one set twice.
Rebag's component terminology and FASHIONPHILE's seller preparation content show the importance of describing the object being offered. For your own collection, turn that into a clear contents list rather than a claim about a guaranteed premium.
A compact contents record
| Component | What to record |
|---|---|
| Strap or chain | Present, material, adjustability, originality if known |
| Removable pouch | Matching item, condition and whether included in comparisons |
| Lock and keys | What is physically present; do not assume a complete set |
| Dust bag and box | Original, replacement, unknown or absent |
| Documents | Keep private and distinguish receipts from authentication evidence |
Keep completeness consistent with valuation
- Photograph the bag and its accessories together.
- Take separate views of damaged or replaced components.
- Read the source listing's included-items description.
- Mark any contents mismatch beside the price evidence.
- Do not add separately valued accessories to a complete-set estimate.
Illustrative example: a bag has an entered complete-set estimate of $900. You also create a separate $80 record for the strap that is already included in that set. Adding both as independent assets gives a misleading $980 total. Either value the complete set once or establish separate, non-overlapping records with a clear basis.
When an accessory was purchased later
Retain its actual purchase amount and whether it replaced a lost part. Spending $120 on a replacement strap does not prove that the bag's resale value increased by $120. Originality, compatibility and buyer preferences can differ.
Use Pieces to organize the bag and check the visible piece record before sharing a collection. Keep any detailed component ledger in your own supporting records if needed; automatic accessory valuation and component linking are not claimed. For the whole collection workflow, use tracking handbag collection value.
